Nigeria's textile industry remains underdeveloped, despite West Africa being the world's fifth-largest cotton-producing region, with cotton prices half those of the US, China, and India. To address this, the Nigerian government has been planning to establish a special economic zone dedicated to the textile and clothing industry since 2018, indicating Nigeria as a market with significant growth potential.
